Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express is an adventure game based on Agatha Christie's best-selling novel, Murder on the Orient Express. It was developed by Microids, also responsible for the Syberia series of the same genre.
Plot
Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express is set on the titular train, its main protagonist being Hercule Poirot, legendary detective. He's tasked with solving a crime committed against one of the engers. Unlike the original book, the game was modernised and set in 2023.
The detective's task is not an easy one, as each enger hides their own secrets, many having a motive. One of the engers is Joanna Locke, the second playable character; we play as her during flashbacks taking place outside the Orient Express.
Due to its new plot elements and numerous twists, the story should satisfy both newcomers and Agatha Christie enthusiasts alike.
Mechanics
Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express makes use of the third-person perspective (TPP). The player explores different locations (mainly the different luxury train cars), talks to NPCs (every one of which can be a suspect), gather clues and evidence. The mind map mechanic lets us organize acquired information and make deductions, gradually moving closer to the truth. There are also plenty of puzzles based on manipulating objects.

Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express makes use of a colorful artstyle, not bothering with photorealism.
