Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is a cyberpunk tactical RPG, and also the ninth project of the independent American studio Trese Brothers Games. We are talking about developers specialized in this genre, who have in their portfolio such titles as Star Traders: Frontiers.

Non-linear adventure

During the game, we find ourselves in a dystopian future and lead a squad of mercenaries into battle. They earn a living by undertaking various, often risky missions. Who we work for (the game world is shaken by factions with conflicting views and goals), and what missions we undertake, has far-reaching consequences. Completing missions not only earns us money, but we also gain debtors, whose favors may come in handy sooner or later.

Our actions determine the reputation of the branch we run among potential clients, and also shape individual team . The presence of a given character in specific missions and actions during them have as much impact on it as the choices we make. For the purposes of the game, the Casting Director story engine was prepared, which oversees all variables, modifying the character's personality based on them.

Tactical battles

The core of the gameplay in Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is engaging in tactical battles with opponents. The fights take place in turn-based mode, on arenas without a grid, allowing team to move freely around the battlefield, using cover and taking advantageous positions for attack.

The game allows us to both engage in open fire exchange, and to act in hiding, quietly and individually eliminating enemies or sneaking behind their backs. In all cases, the key to success is the coordination of actions of team .

Team development

As we progress, the reputation of our team grows, which gives us access to better paid, but also increasingly difficult missions. Over time, we develop our subordinates, unlocking their new skills and improving those they already possess (we don't have to limit ourselves to abilities from one class). The game also allows us to modify their appearance, as well as give them names.




