Gran Turismo Sport is the first Gran Turismo game to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Although it's release takes place more than two years after Gran Turismo 6, the game is not considered to be the seventh installment in the main series. Nevertheless, it offers more than just a small taste of the next big game, as it was in the case of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Just as all the previous games in the franchise, Gran Turismo Sport too was developed by Japanese studio Polyphony Digital, a Sony Computer Entertainment subsidiary.
The overall gameplay mechanics in Gran Turismo Sport are the same as before. You climb up the ladder of a professional driver career, taking part in more and more prestigious races and driving more powerful cars. There are many vehicles to choose from, including sport cars, dedicated racing or concept cars. You can take them for a spin on many existing racing tracks from all over the world.
Gran Turismo Sport puts even more emphasis on motor sports through the competitive multiplayer. Polyphony Digital started a partnership with FIA organization (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) to let players compete for prestigious titles and cups, just as real race drivers do. The competition has two layers – players can either represent their own country or selected car manufacturers.
Together with the authentic competitive experience comes an enhanced, realistic driving model. However, the developer took special care to make Gran Turismo Sport as accessible to players as the previous installments.
Since this is a PlayStation 4 game, Gran Turismo Sport offers much better visuals than the previous games. It is also noteworthy that the title s PlayStation VR headset.

"Video games as a service" is usually associated with unfair microtransactions, lacking content and watered-down story – but there's more to it. The term also implies an opportunity the devs have to mend the things that don't work properly.

Game Ratings for Gran Turismo Sport Video Game.
GamesRadar+: 4 / 5 by Justin Towell
Gran Turismo Sport is a bona fide virtual motorsport and that's awesome. But single-player modes are lacking and it's demonstrably outshone by Forza Motorsport 7 in virtually every area.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 7 / 10 by Tyler Treese
One's enjoyment of Gran Turismo Sport will solely be determined by whether the prospect of learning different tracks and competing in three different online races per day is exciting to them. If you can't get into that gameplay loop then you'll want to play something else, as the single-player content is extremely limited, and even the online offerings aren't rich with features. GT Sport does a few things exceptionally well (you won't find a better looking and playing racing game), but it ultimately left me wanting more content out of it.
IGN: 7.5 / 10 by Luke Reilly
In many ways, GT Sport is the most polished Gran Turismo game in over a decade. It looks great, feels great, and what's here has been carefully and well executed. However, while I can forgive the sprinkling of eccentric nonsense, the lack of car and track content really hurts, and the online-only nature of the vast majority of it is worrying. Overall it just isn't as complete as its key competitors.
