A relaxing title, inspired by games such as Townscaper or Dorfromantik. Islands & Trains allows us to construct beautiful dioramas with moving trains. We can place the train tracks ourselves and create various connections, as well as modify the terrain. There are no objectives or time limits in the game.

Islands & Trains is a relaxing game which is difficult to classify into a specific genre. It allows us to create dioramas with moving miniature trains. The development of this game was led by independent developers Akos Makovics and Fabian Schmidt. Their sources of inspiration were projects such as Townscaper.

Peaceful gameplay in picturesque locations

The gameplay takes place on the titular islands full of rivers, lakes, forests, canyons, mountains, and beautiful towns. Our goal is to create railway lines that intersect locations, winding across the entire territory at our discretion. We can not only lay tracks on solid ground, but also build bridges and viaducts.

The game also allows us to freely modify the topography of the terrain, creating and leveling elevations, placing trees and other landscape elements, as well as placing animals on the maps, thanks to which the whole scenery comes to life.

When we have the route ready, all that remains is to place steam-powered trains on it, attach carriages (enger or freight) to them, and watch as they calmly traverse the maps.

No restrictions

The whole thing was prepared in such a way as to allow players to de-stress. For this reason, we will not experience any mission objectives or time constraints here. It is also impossible to make a mistake in the game that could not be easily corrected.
