A collection of two remastered jRPGs - Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. Lunar Remastered Collection features turn-based combat and rich storylines. The remasters have improved graphics and there is also a new option to speed up the battles.
Lunar Remastered Collection is a compilation of remastered versions of two jRPG games from the Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete. The package was created by Ashibi and Game Arts studios, while its release was handled by GungHo Online Entertainment company.
Gameplay
Lunar: Remastered Collection consists of classically made jRPGs. We take control of a team that travels through a fantasy land, gets to know its inhabitants and carries out quests, as well as fights enemies.
The battles in this compilation take place in turn-based mode, and the key to success on the battlefield is primarily the proper placement of individual characters. Before making a move, we must take into the position, speed, attack range, and the distance separating a given character from its target.
New features in the remasters
The new versions stand out from the originals thanks to a number of conveniences. The developers focused on the graphics, which were adapted to work in higher resolutions. The games allow us to switch between the original and refreshed visuals. There is an option to speed up battles, and the remasters also have additional strategic options. The icing on the cake are the English voices of the characters. Alternatively, we can play with the original Japanese dubbing and English subtitles.
Story
The story of the games from the Lunar: Remastered Collection takes place in the titular world. The main character of the first part of the series is Alex, also known as the aspiring Dragonmaster. He is trying to thwart the plans of the Magic Emperor attempting to take control over the world.
The events depicted in the second installment of the series take place a thousand years later, and the main protagonist is Hiro. Along with a mysterious companion named Lucia, he embarks on a journey to find the goddess Althena. The protagonists have to deal with antagonists who are hot on their heels - Borgan and Knight Leo.
The story told in both games is conveyed not only through conversations with characters, but also through cutscenes made in a style reminiscent of 1990s anime.

Lunar: Remastered Collection brings two classic RPGs to modern audiences with updated visuals but an otherwise faithful restoration. Is this enough to stand out in modern gaming?

Lunar Remastered Collection
The Lunar: Remastered Collection is a victim of its own faithfulness. While its upgraded visuals—the retro pixel art character sprites and environments and the hand-drawn cutscenes—are stunning, they only barely distract from an otherwise outdated RPG experience. Lunar’s stories and character might have felt fresh and original in the 1990s, but today, they come across as cliché and uninspired. There is fun to be had here, but there are plenty of other great modern RPGs, too. I have a hard time imagining anyone choosing to jump into the world of Lunar today if they don’t have pre-existing nostalgia for the series.

Hey Poor Player: 4 / 5 by Andrew Thornton
Despite only offering minor updates, I still wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the LUNAR Remastered Collection to any fan of RPGs who hasn’t played these great games. I still absolutely love both of these games. Even after all these years, they are well-paced adventures filled with a lot of heart and excellent characters who are highly memorable. It would have been great to see LUNAR once more get the red-carpet treatment, but just having these games easily accessible to modern audiences is a major win.
Capsule Computers: 8 / 10 by Travis Bruno
Lunar Remastered Collection respects the original translation, delivering an improved experience for both charming games with a few missteps, making this collection one any JRPG fan should enjoy.
Cloud Dosage: 4.2 / 5 by Jon Scarr
Lunar Remastered Collection brings two classic RPGs to modern platforms with updated visuals, quality-of-life tweaks, and dual voice tracks. The combat remains simple but satisfying, with helpful tools like battle speed toggles and shared inventory. While some dated gameplay mechanics linger, the emotional storytelling and memorable characters still shine. If you’re a longtime fan or curious newcomer, this collection offers a faithful way to experience two classic JRPGs.
