NASCAR Thunder 2002 is yet another racing game created Electronic Arts, in which we have the opportunity to sit at the helm of one of several dozen of title cars. Noteworthy is also the full license of this organization, including the names and images of drivers, or the presence of real race tracks, on which the competition is held. In many ways, this title was a competitor for Atari's NASCAR Heat. The game was released on PS2 and Xbox and present a very similar level of execution. The version for Microsofts's console looks slightly better, thanks to better use of antialiasing.

Depending on the player's preferences, the game can offer both a simple arcade racing game (with numerous options aids), as well as a relatively demanding simulator. In the latter case, the player must not only take care of the car, but also skillfully drive in subsequent races, avoiding any collisions with other drivers.
