Release Date: October 31, 2006
An indirect sequel to BioWare's popular role-playing game from 2002, this time developed by Obsidian Entertainment, known for e.g. the second game in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series. The plot of Neverwinter Nights 2 begins two years after the events of its predecessor, when the world of the Forgotten Realms finds itself threatened by a powerful evil in the form of the mysterious King of Shadows.
Neverwinter Nights 2 is a sequel to the hit role-playing game released in the middle of 2002. Just like in the case of the predecessor, the game is based on the 3rd edition of Dungeons & Dragons. The game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment that previously created such RPGs like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The story of the sequel takes place in the well-known world of Forgotten Realms. Although the game offers an extensive single player campaign, the developers didn’t forget about the fans of online gameplay.
The single player campaigns starts a few years after the events of Neverwinter Nights. The war-torn land didn’t know peace for long, and the Sword Coast is at the verge of war yet again. The game tells the story of a lone hero who, as a result of some unpleasant events, turns out to be in possession of a very powerful relic. The campaign is divided into three chapters and is full of plot twists. There is no shortage of side quests, as well.
The aforementioned multiplayer consists first and foremost of extensive toolkit that allows the players to create their very own adventure and then invite others to play together. The mods can also be single characters, pieces of equipment or even scripts that change the behavior of NPCs.
The character development system remains pretty much the same, though it does not mean that it was left unimproved. Our characters can take advantage of new kinds of skills and previously unknown spells. Obsidian Entertainment also prepared some new character classes. Moreover, contrary to Neverwinter Nights, the sequel allows us to take a three-member party with the protagonist (and gives us full control of their action), not only a single henchman. The game is powered by the Electron engine that s normal mapping, dynamic lighting and Pixel Shader 3.0, among other things.

RPG
Another expansion pack for the best-selling RPG Neverwinter Nights 2 developed in 2006 by Obsidian Entertainment. This time, however, it's not an official expansion but rather a so-called module, created by Ossian Studios with the help from the gaming community. The story takes place in the eponymous city of Westgate, known from the Forgotten Realms universe, and you play as a group of heroes owning a powerful but cursed artifact, due to which they become a part of a complex plot and an ongoing conflict between two factions. The expansion features a new nonlinear story campaign, consisting of about 20 hours of gameplay. Your can have three new companions in your party, encounter previously unseen monsters, and discover unknown locations, e.g. the dark underground sewers.

RPG
An official expansion pack for the second installment in the role-playing TPP game series Neverwinter Nights. The plot of Mask of the Betrayer begins just after the final fight with the King of Shadows, which took place at the end of the third act of the core game. Your player character wakes up somewhere deep underground, surrounded by a horde of evil spirits. Feeling a strange hunger of unknown origins, you begin a new epic adventure, during which you discover a curse laid upon you, and face your destiny. The expansion, which should take about 15—20 hours to complete, introduces a new prestige class, modified crafting and upgrading system, and raises the maximum character level to 30. The game also features the usual novelties, such as new races and character classes, locations, monsters, powerful weapons (which are, however, difficult to obtain), and feats, spells, items, etc.
