A multiplayer arcade game developed for Nintendo Switch. The game rules are simple - the characters run around a board divided into smaller s. By jumping you rotate the tiles near your avatar, changing their color to match it. If someone else steps onto your tile, they drop out of the game. When rotating the tiles you can earn various power-ups which e.g. increase your speed or the number of the rotated tiles.
Project Mekuru is an arcade game released on Switch designed for multiplayer games. The title is only available in digital distribution.
Mechanics
Gameplay in Project Mekuru is based on quite simple rules. There are four players on a small board. The goal of each of them is to eliminate competitors - they do that by rotating the s on the floor. We do this by jumping - this causes the tiles near the hero to rotate and change their color to the one assigned to that player. If another person steps on our , they get eliminated from the game. Some tiles can give us various power-ups, e.g. increased movement speed. However, some of the tiles are fixed and cannot be rotated. Skillful players can use this to their advantage.
Project Mekuru on the Switch has a four-player multiplayer. The game can be played both over the Internet and locally on a single console.
Technical aspects
The graphics aren't spectacular. We see only a white map and colorful characters dressed in futuristic suits. The game doesn't any spectacular effects, and there is usually nothing interesting in the background. Nevertheless, Project Mekuru looks decent in motion and the graphics don't interfere with good fun.

Flip Wars is a very simple, shallow party game. It's not actively terrible, but it barely offers anything to do.
Nintendo Enthusiast: 3.8 / 10 by Eli Pales
Although I hoped Flip Wars would turn out to be a fun online and party game when I first saw its footage, the title turned out to be a disappointment void of any real merit. The gameplay is clunky, content is slim, and power-ups do little to remedy the experience. The lack of a single-player mode and virtually nonexistent online make recommending this title even more. Ultimately, Flip Wars' release made my disappointed Nintendo published an unfinished game like it in the first place.

It's perhaps stepping on Super Bomberman R's toes at a fraction of the price, but Flip Wars scratches that multiplayer itch and is an absolute blast to play locally. There are currently some kinks to iron out, particularly with online matchmaking to fully use all the player slots, but with updates a possibility it's certainly one to keep an eye on to see how things develop.
