Sniper Elite: Resistance is a spin-off of the sniper action series launched in 2005. The game is the result of a collaboration between Rebellion studio, which oversees the development of the series, and Wushu Studios team.
Plot
Like previous titles under this banner, Sniper Elite: Resistance takes place during World War II and this time we go to . The game's story happens parallel to the events of Sniper Elite 5. The main character is Harry Hawker, a special forces agent whose task is to neutralize the Wunderwaffe - a new weapon developed by the Germans, which would ensure their victory.
Gameplay
In Sniper Elite: Resistance we view the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game is based on the gameplay scheme known from previous parts of the series. The driving force of the game are missions that take us away from the front line and require the elimination of specific targets and the destruction of objects or sabotage, and finally - a safe evacuation from the area. Propaganda missions are a novelty - they are side quests that can be unlocked by finding special posters. These missions allow us to embody a resistance fighter and force us to achieve time-limited goals.
The tasks set before us can be accomplished in various ways. Although in theory we can engage in open firefights, our enemies usually have the numerical and technological advantage over us. This makes it usually a better option to sneak around and avoid them or eliminate them by surprise, or to take a sniper rifle and get rid of them from a safe distance.
The game provides us with a real arsenal from World War II period, which we can modify and improve as we progress. We can see the devastation that sniper rifle bullets wreak on enemy bodies thanks to a special X-ray camera, which essentially "scans" enemies at the moment they are hit by a bullet and brutally presents the damage inflicted on them.
Game modes
In Sniper Elite: Resistance we can play alone or in multiplayer mode. In addition to coop campaign and a horde mode, the game allows us to hunt other players in Invasion mode and try our hand at competitive gameplay for up to 16 people.

ZTGD: 7.5 / 10 by Terrence Johnson
Gameplay is tight, graphics are great, and there are some fun game modes. Truly, my biggest issue with the game is it just feels like it should be an expansion to Sniper Elite 5. Resistance isn’t though, it’s a full-priced game replete with season and the obligatory ‘Kill Hitler’ mission.
WellPlayed: 7.5 / 10 by Mark Isaacson
Sniper Elite: Resistance is a reasonable continuation of the franchise, its sniping highs remain as amusing as ever thanks to some neat environmental gameplay, but much of its content rehashes what came before instead of evolving the series concept for a true next-gen sequel.

Nevertheless, it's hard to escape the impression that Sniper Elite: Resistance is one of the laziest games I've encountered in recent times. It's OK, but nothing more than that - it gives the impression of empty sequel, a production in which neither heart nor ion was put. It's a game created at low cost, just to spend something and make money on fans of the series. Yes, you can have fun with it, but at the same time it disappoints on almost every level.
The main pros of the game
- Engaging Sniping Mechanics: The game retains the satisfying sniping mechanics that fans of the series enjoy, providing a solid experience for players who appreciate tactical shooting.
- Graphics and Visuals: Many players noted that the graphics are decent, with some improvements over previous titles, although opinions vary on this point.
- Propaganda Missions: The introduction of Propaganda missions adds a fresh layer to the gameplay, allowing players to engage in timed challenges.
- Co-op and Multiplayer Modes: The game continues to co-op gameplay and multiplayer modes, which are appreciated by fans of the series.
The main cons of the game
- Feels Like a DLC: Many s expressed that the game feels more like an expansion or DLC for Sniper Elite 5 rather than a standalone title, citing reused assets and mechanics.
- Bugs and Performance Issues: The game has been criticized for numerous bugs, including AI glitches, movement issues, and performance problems, which detract from the overall experience.
- Short Campaign: The campaign is perceived as short, with many players reporting that it can be completed in a few hours, leading to dissatisfaction regarding the price point.
- Weak AI: The enemy AI has been described as inconsistent, with instances of enemies behaving in a predictable or unintelligent manner, reducing the challenge.
- Voice Acting and Character Design: Some players found the voice acting, particularly of the new protagonist, to be cringe-worthy and detracting from immersion.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to s
- Lack of Innovation: Players were expecting new mechanics or features, but many felt that the game did not introduce anything significantly different from previous entries.
- More Multiplayer Maps: The multiplayer experience is seen as lacking due to the limited number of maps available at launch, which diminishes replayability.
- Expanded Weapon Options: Several s noted the absence of certain beloved weapons from previous games and criticized the balancing of weapon stats.
- Improved AI and Enemy Interaction: There are calls for better AI behavior and more dynamic enemy interactions to enhance the stealth and combat experience.
Conclusion
- Overall, Sniper Elite: Resistance has received a mixed reception. While it retains core gameplay elements that fans love, it suffers from a lack of innovation, numerous bugs, and a campaign that feels too short and recycled. Many s recommend waiting for a sale or considering previous entries in the series before purchasing.
