Styx: Shards of Darkness for PC, PS4 and XONE is a sequel to the well-received TPP stealth game Pro Cycling Manager. Styx: Shards of Darkness was announced in October 2015, almost exactly on the anniversary of its predecessor's release, and was released a year later for PC Windows, as well as the eighth generation consoles, such as PlayStation4 and Xbox ONE.
The protagonist of Styx: Shards of Darkness is the eponymous goblin assassin, known from another Cyanide game, the RPG Of Orcs and Men. After the fall of the Akenash tower, hiding the source of precious amber, new circumstances force Styx to infiltrate the city of Körangar, the stronghold of the Dark Elves. It turns out that the secretive diplomatic meeting of the Elves and the Dwarves is just a cover for a dangerous conspiracy and an alliance of the goblin-hating races. Your task is to uncover the secrets surrounding the conspiracy and saving your kin from annihilation.
Mechanics-wise, Styx: Shards of Darkness does not differ much from its predecessor. It's still a TPP action game, focusing on the stealth aspect and quiet methods of eliminating possible foes. However, the game's elements have been expanded. The world of Styx: Shards of Darkness is larger, and the protagonist can now use a wide range of new abilities, such as the ability to jump from one corner of a room to another, climb up ropes or us a knife to move around via zip-lines. The game also features new, varied locations and NPCs, and new opponents to fight.
Styx: Shards of Darkness for PC, PS4 and XONE, compared to its 2014 predecessor, features clearly updated visuals, utilizing the advanced Unreal Engine 4.

Game Ratings for Styx: Shards of Darkness Video Game.
God is a Geek: 7 / 10 by Chris White
A decent stealth experience, but the AI tends to sour the experience, as does the occasional camera angle issue.
Game Revolution: 4 / 5
It's safe to say Styx: Shards of Darkness is nothing short of a spectacular stealth game that brings the genre back to its roots and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
PlayStation LifeStyle: 7.5 / 10 by Martin Patino
Styx: Shards of Darkness improves on its predecessor significantly without having to steer away from its core attributes. Everything from its visuals and dialogue to its gameplay and story have been upgraded and polished to an impressive sheen. It’s still far from being perfect and its style of stealth and combat might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely a challenging and enjoyable experience that sometimes forces you to think hard first before acting. The foundation that Of Orcs and Men built set the perfect stage for both Master of Shadows and Shards of Darkness and it can only get better and more interesting from here.
