Watch_Dogs for PC, PS4 and etc. is an innovative action game with an open-structured city of Chicago, stuffed with cutting-edge technologies, in which the most powerful weapon of the protagonist are his hacking skills. The game is a work of several studies led by Ubisoft Montreal which is known for game series such as Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, or Far Cry.

Story

The players assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a former criminal and an anti-hero, who is an expert in hacking. His skills enable him to cause a collision by manipulating traffic lights at an intersection, connect to the municipal monitoring system or hack into phones of people he es by to learn more about them and, for example, influence their daily life in some way (save them from a thief, help them to take revenge etc.). Pearce talents allow him to control almost every element of the modern world that surrounds him.

Seven cardinal sins of sandbox games

Open worlds are currently all the rage in the AAA segment, but nobody seems to be doing too much to expand the known formulas. Most studios seem to fail at the task, and instead of making captivating and coherent worlds, they repeat the same mistakes.

WATCH DOGS OPEN WORLD IS TRUMPED BY ITS SMART, LAYERED MECHANICS

Hardcore Gamer: 4 / 5 by Steve Hannley

Treated like the Second Coming, Watch Dogs has arrived riding a tidal wave of hype and has turned out not to be a momentous event in gaming, but instead just a great game. In some ways, Ubisoft has done it a disservice by creating expectations it could never live up to, as this is a wholly entertaining experience on its own . The campaign is massive and full of enthralling missions, the voice acting and characterization (outside of Aiden) is impeccable and it's jam packed with enough content to keep gamers satisfied until Grand Theft Auto VI.
