Assassin’s Creed: Infinity like Animus
Rumors about the initiative known as Codename Infinity have been making rounds on the web for a long time now. Up until today’s show, Ubisoft confirmed only that it will be a live-service game. Other than that, we knew virtually nothing.
Truth be told, it turns out that even this official information isn’t entirely true. Ubisoft Quebec’s Marc-Alexis Côté revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Infinity is not as much a game, as an “entry point” to the series for new players. It is to be an equivalent to the in-game Animus, giving us access to various stories taking place in the AC universe.
In Ubisoft’s idea AC Infinity is to be a platform that will unite all the AC games and fans „in a meaningful way”. Also in multiplayer games, as Côté revealed, that Ubisoft is looking for a way to make “standalone multiplayer experiences” return to the Assassin’s Creed universe.
