Baldur's Gate 3 Grew Into a Terribly Long Game

So it's no surprise that the developers are revealing more information about the title. This time we learned the length of the entire adventure. It shows that we are in for a very long story.
The news comes from an interview that Swen Vincke, head of Larian Studios, gave to IGN. It shows that if we want to complete Baldur's Gate 3, we will need quite a lot of time.
- "Normal" playthrough, in which we simply want to get acquainted with the story, will take between 75 and 100 hours.
- If, on the other hand, one cares to see everything that the developers have prepared, one will have to spend up to 200 hours.
"There will be people who will want to do everything the game has to offer. I believe that such people will reach 200 hours. However, the average playthrough time will be between 75 and 100 hours.
These words show how much Baldur's Gate 3 has grown during the development. Three years ago Larian announced that the game could be completed in 40 hours. In the end, however, we will see a story twice as long.
