Baldur's Gate 3's Activity Result on Steam Shocked Even the Devs
Baldur's Gate 3 has become one of the most popular games in Steam's history. The achieved activity record completely surprised the developers.

Last week Baldur's Gate III left early access. Everyone expected that version 1.0 would enjoy significant popularity, but the true scale of it surprised even the developers themselves.
- Since the release of edition 1.0, every day the game sets a new activity record.
- Yesterday's record was 814 666 simultaneous s on Steam.
- Such a result means that Baldur's Gate 3 managed to break into the top ten most popular games in Steam history (9th overall and 4th among single player games).
- This turned out to be a complete surprise not only to the players, but also to the game's developers.
- The head of Larian, Swen Vincke, recently itted that he had expected for BG3 an activity record of 100,000 players.
- Vincke joked that this was the prediction he filed to the studio's IT department, so it would be best for him to avoid of that team for a while.

Recall that version 1.0 of Baldur's Gate 3 debuted on PC on August 3, ending an early access period that lasted almost three years.
The game was met with an enthusiastic reception. The average rating of trade media is 95% on Metacritic. This is the second-highest score this year, and a mere 1% lower than that of the leader, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (it must be said, however, that the number of final ratings already awarded to BG3 is small - mere 6). On Steam, on the other hand, counting player reviews from the last 30 days, 95% praise BG3, which is categorized as an "overwhelmingly positive" reception.
It is worth mentioning that on September 6 the PlayStation 5 version of the game will be released. Currently, it is encountered considerable technical issues, especially in split-screen co-op.
