Beyond Good & Evil 2 is Somehow Still in Development Despite Ubisoft's Problems
Despite Ubisoft's difficult financial situation and numerous cancellations and delays, the company has confirmed that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development.
In recent days Beyond Good & Evil 2, which has still been in development - for almost a decade and a half.
This information was confirmed by a spokesman for Ubisoft, responding to an inquiry from PCGamesN.
“Beyond Good and Evil 2’s development is underway and the team is hard at work to deliver on its ambitious promise."
Whether the assurance made by the team - that is, Ubisoft Montpellier studio - can be trusted, we can only guess. This is because we don't really know the vision behind the game.
Over the years, there have ittedly been many rumors about it - such as the one that we will come to create our own character - but currently the only information that can be considered reasonably certain is that the second game will be a prequel to 2003's original, offering a partially procedurally generated open world in the form of an entire planetary system. Because of this, the developers refer to Beyond Good & Evil 2 as "GTA In Space."
Moreover, one can guess that the said promise concerns, among other things, some specific date - unknown to us, unfortunately. Recent reports from industry insider Tom Henderson - regarding the game's rumored ongoing alpha testing - seemed to suggest that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is finally getting off the ground.
A little later, Henderson confirmed these revelations, while also BG&E2's title of the longest-running big-budget game in development unthreatened.
