Tokyo Ghoul is a new chapter to DBD. It introduces Ken Kaneki as a killer. But what about survivors? Will we get a new one?

Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul – was shown to the world yesterday. There is growing speculation regarding whether the developers will introduce a new survivor. Unfortunately, I have to disappoint you.

Can we hope for a Tokyo Ghoul survivor in DBD?

From the post published on the official DBD website, we can learn that Tokyo Ghoul Chapter includes a new killer – Ken Kaneki aka The Ghoul. He is also the only new character available on the public test server. So, it is certain that we won’t see a new survivor this time. Instead, however, the free update will introduce a new map in the Forsaken Boneyard realm – Dead Sands.

Single character chapters aren’t unusual. In 2024 alone we received two such DLCs – Alan Wake. Even deleted The Hellraiser Chapter contained only a killer. So, this is a familiar scenario for all DBD players.

Of course, in theory Behaviour Interactive may introduce another Tokyo Ghoul Chapter in the future. This is not impossible, as Resident Evil also received two DLCs in the past. There is no official information regarding that, though. However, I can think of one big problem in this scenario. Is there a character in the anime or manga who is really suitable to become a survivor?
