Capcom responds to optimization complaints from Monster Hunter Wilds players on PC
Monster Hunter Wilds launched today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. This is the next major entry in the Monster Hunter series, which has been around since the original Monster Hunter in 2004. Trailers leading up to today’s launch of Wilds showcased a highly interactive open world with impressively realistic graphics. It’s no question that tons of fans were looking forward to playing this game, but not all PCs are created equal, so it is to be expected that some players will have trouble running such a huge new game. But players have pointed out in reviews on Steam that they are experiencing issues even with powerful modern systems.
Thankfully, Capcom was quick to respond. The Monster Hunter Status shared a post on social media that gave advice about what to do. “If you’re experiencing any initial issues with Monster Hunter Wilds on Steam, please try updating your graphics driver, turning off compatibility mode, and then readjust our settings.” The post also shared a link to a Monster Hunter Wilds page advising players on what to do if the game does not run properly.
As the game has only just launched, it’s possible that these optimization issues some players are experiencing will be fixed in patches over the weekend. But if you are considering jumping into the Steam version of the game, it might be best to wait to see if anything changes. If you have a strong PC that can handle big modern games like this, you might be fine. But if you have a console, that might be the safest bet right now, especially since Monster Hunter Wilds s crossplay, so you won’t be separated from your friends on other platforms.
