CryEngine 5.6 Trailer Announces Remastered Crysis?

In the trailer of the latest version of CryEngine, in addition to improved features we can see the island known from the first installment of Crysis. It is quite possible that this is the announcement of a remastered version of the game.

Crysis Remaster on CryEngine 5.6? You'd better get your money ready for new hardware.

A video showing the capabilities of the new CryEngine, version 5.6 has been released online. On the video we can see a lot of new features implemented in the new version of the software. Everything looks phenomenal and is just a small piece of what we can expect from the next generation of consoles.

The trailer shows fog and dynamic lighting in many environments, as well as special effects such as motion blur, sunlight shafts and rope physics, among other things. The interaction with vegetation also looks impressive. The improved behavior of chains and fabrics only highlights how good the CryEngine engine is - it's not only an amazing graphic experience, but also advanced physics of objects and surroundings.

If CryEngine's bells and whistles didn't encourage you to watch the video, you might yet be convinced by what's at the end of it. Many Internet s claim that the island shown at the end of the video is nothing more than a teaser of a remastered edition of Crysis. In the background you can hear the music from the original game, and the scenery is deceptively reminiscent of the one known from the first part.

Does this mean that we will soon see a refreshed version of Crysis on CryEngine 5.6? We can't be sure of that. We know, however, that if this happens, it will take a lot of hardware to run the remaster. Many of us what Crysis did to our PCs back in 2007.
