DLSS Mod for Starfield Now Available
Modder PureDark has already released a modification that adds DLSS to Starfield.

Official launch of edition owners. The first mods have also appeared. One of them is particularly noteworthy, as it adds DLSS to the game.
- By default, the game only s AMD's FSR technology, which is most likely due to an agreement of cooperation between this corporation and Bethesda.
- This unfortunate state of affairs is fixed by the mod called Starfield Upscaler, whose author is PureDark. It substitutes in-game FSR2 for DLSS2 or XeSS (an alternative solution from Intel).
- The mod works as an add-on to the UpscalerBasePlugin mod by the same creator.
Starfield Upscaler works very well in action, as you can see by watching the Tof Gaming channel's video below.
How to install Starfield Upscaler.
Installing the mod is easy overall, but it does require some work.
- Starfield Upscaler and extract the mod archive to the main folder of the game.
- Also install UpscalerBasePlugin. To do this, extract the archive and place PDPerfplugin.dll in the "...mods/UpscalerBasePlugin" folder.
- NVIDIA DLSS DLL files. Extract the archive, and then place nvngx_dlss.dll file place it in the "...mods/UpscalerBasePlugin" folder. Alternatively, if you want to use XeSS libxess.dll and copy it to "...mods/UpscalerBasePlugin".
- If steps 2 and 3 don't work correctly, just put the .dll files in the same folder as Starfield.exe, this should also work.
- Launch the game. You need to enable FSR2 in the settings, as this mod replaces FSR2.
- Press END in the game to open the upscaler menu, where you can choose DLSS or XeSS.
It's worth mentioning that AMD says it does not prohibit Bethesda from adding DLSS to Starfield. So it is possible that such an option will appear soon in an update. Until then, however, the mod will work very well as an unofficial replacement.
Finally, let's recall that Starfield will launch on PC, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The title will be available from its market debut (that is, from September 6) also in Game subscription on both PC and Xbox consoles.
