Dragon Age co-creator's new game set to get major free expansions. Perhaps, they'll help revive interest in Eternal Strands
Eternal Strands devs revealed a development plan for the game. In the future, we will receive free expansions created in cooperation with the developers of Final Fantasy XVI and No More Heores.

Last month, Dragon Age series, was released. The title received decent reviews from critics, and even higher ones from players, but it failed to conquer Steam (console sales are unknown). The roap has now been revealed, which might revive interest in it.
However, let's take a look at the statistics first. According to SteamDB, at its peak, Eternal Strands had 744 players playing simultaneously on Steam, and at the time of writing this news, there are only 31. This is a poor result. On the other hand, the ratings look good, as out of 548 reviews, 89% are positive. So it can be seen that the people who gave the game a chance are satisfied with their decision.
Eternal Strands - roap
The roap for Eternal Strands starts with what is referred to as the "March Day 30 Patch," which introduces many improvements to the game. These improvements have been detailed in a post on Steam. The most important of them concern three aspects of gameplay.
- Movement - the feeling of the character "sliding" will be reduced. It will also accelerate and respond better to changes in direction.
- Combat - responsiveness will be enhanced by better enemy reactions to hits, more noticeable visual effects, or adding controller vibration.
- The penalty for death caused by falling from a height will be removed.
Furthermore, the developers will reduce the presence of Umbral Darter in some places and fix a lot of bugs.
However, it will be much more interesting in the spring when Eternal Strands receives its first free expansion. Developers from Yellow Brick have teamed up with Yusuke Mogi, the concept artist of Final Fantasy XVI, to design and add a new epic item, armor set, and weapon skins to the game. The spring update will also add another map, magical power, and equipment dyeing system.
However, this isn't the only free DLC created as part of the collaboration. This summer, the second installment, developed in collaboration with Grasshopper Manufacture studio, creators of the No More Heroes series, will be released. Unfortunately, we didn't learn its contents.
Eternal Strands is available on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
