The latest installment of The Elder Scrolls VI will almost certainly follow in the footsteps of Starfield and apparently will not be released on competing consoles.

The information was provided during a conversation between the Xbox boss and Todd Howard (of Bethesda Game Studios) with the GQ magazine. Spencer explains the decision with the desire to provide a "full Xbox experience" in Microsoft games, which means taking advantage of all the elements that make up that "ecosystem", including Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Live:
“It’s not about punishing any other platform, like I fundamentally believe all of the platforms can continue to grow. But in order to be on Xbox, I want us to be able to bring the full complete package of what we have. And that would be true when I think about Elder Scrolls VI. That would be true when I think about any of our franchises.”
Phil Spencer's statement is intriguing in that just a year ago Todd Howard move away from this type of publishing policy.
It is worth reminding that exactly a year ago Tim Stuart (CFO of Xbox) today's broadcast from the Redmond giant to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Xbox brand will clear up any doubts - although it's rumoured to be without any announcements or previews.
