Electronic Arts Officially Acquired Codemasters
Codemasters has been formally acquired by Electronic Arts. On this occasion, the CEOs of both companies took the floor.

In mid-December 2020, Electronic Arts GRID) for an impressive sum equal to around 1.2 billion dollars. From the very beginning both companies were positive about the partnership contract, but only today, on February 18, 2021, the cooperation between the two entities was formally established. EA informed about the event, among others, via Twitter:
A special statement was published on the official blog of the said company, in which we can read the words of Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts:
"This is the beginning of an exciting new era for racing games and content as we bring together the talented teams at Electronic Arts and Codemasters. Our teams will be a global powerhouse in racing entertainment, with amazing games for players on every platform, and we can’t wait to get started."
Codemasters CEO Frank Sagnier also spoke on the matter:
"Today is a landmark in Codemasters’ history, and an exciting day for our employees and players. The partnership with EA will enable our teams to take our highly-acclaimed franchises to new heights and reach a huge global audience through their player network. Together we can redefine the landscape of racing games to create even more compelling experiences for racing fans around the world."
