Even More New Features Head to Stardew Valley. Eric Barone Doesn’t Slow Down and Announces Small Patch
Patch 1.6 by no means ended the development of Stardew Valley, and soon Eric „ConcernedApe” Barone will introduce more new features to the game.

Just a few years ago, Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone talked about ending the development of Stardew Valley and focusing on a new project. Meanwhile, not only have players recently received a huge update, but the dev of Stardew Valley will also introduce more new features in the next update.
Barone informed (via X) that he is working on patch 1.6.4 for PC (update 1.6 hasn't yet debuted on consoles and mobile devices). It will reach players next week, bringing not only further bug fixes, but also "a few new features."
In the original post, the developer didn't reveal anything specific. However, in response to a question from one of the fans, he added (via teasers.
Barone also assured that work on this small (?) patch won't delay the release of version 1.6 on consoles and mobile devices. Unfortunately, the creator still hasn't provided the release date of the update on these platforms. We only know that it is to happen "as soon as possible."
The 1.6 update came as a massive surprise to the players. Barone initially announced it in a rather modest manner: this version was intended to prioritize facilitation for modders, and the new content was to be more modest than what was added in the previous update. Meanwhile, the patch introduced a huge number of changes and quite a few new features. In fact, the dev didn't exclude that even version 1.7 will appear in the future.
Clearly, Barone cannot abandon his game, even after eight years of almost solitary development. It's hard to blame him for it, considering that after the release of version 1.6, over 236,000 players started playing simultaneously. Even now, over 3 weeks later, Stardew Valley remains one of the most popular games on Steam.
