Fallout 76 Wastelanders Bug Enables NPCs to Pick up Weapons of Dead Players

Fallout 76 players report an interesting error in the Wastelanders update. It turns out that NPCs can search the bodies of fallen players and steal their equipment. Is this revenge for stealing NPC property?

The players robbing NPCs is one thing, but this is in outrage.

When Fallout 76 received the Wastelanders update, some people pointed out that the NPCs introduced in it were quite lenient about stealing their things. NPCs didn't care at all when the players carried off their belongings (via Polygon). However, the same cannot be said of those who noticed another interesting bug. NPCs can search the bodies of killed players and take away their weapons and ammunition. This is the case with special events missions performed together with AI-controlled characters.

Unfortunately (or rather fortunately), this was not the intention of the devs. Bethesda's representatives spoke on the subject on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - had been coded to automatically search nearby bodies. Apparently the developers forgot to reprogram the NPCs. Others claim that this is a completely new mistake

The Wasteladners update launched last week at the same time as the game's Steam release, introducing, in addition to NPCs, a lot of content and fixes. The whole thing was bugs.
