Feature related to class specializations may be coming to Battlefield 7. We've seen it in BF4
DICE is seeking proven solutions. The currently tested version of Battlefield 7 features development mechanics from BF4.

Closed tests of the early version of the new Battlefield have been ongoing for some time, so new information about this project is constantly leaking onto the internet. The latest info concerns the return of an element known from BF4.
It's about class specializations, which resemble Field Upgrades in Battlefield 4. They are unlocked by earning points and provide useful bonuses for our entire squad. The team's death leads to the deletion of this progress.
Within this mechanic, we will receive access to several different sets of upgrades, depending on the class specialization. Each one will provide four levels with a variety of bonuses, including quicker ammo replenishment, improved weapon mounting, vehicle damage buff, or tactical options.
How it works can be seen in the example of the Fire class.
- Level 1. - ensures faster: ammunition replenishment, getting up from a lying position, and aiming and moving while aiming.
- Level 2. - increased range in which team can receive ammunition from you.
- Level 3. - improves the effects of weapon mounting.
- Level 4. - provides Active Resupply. When you press L1 + R1, a box will be dropped that immediately replenishes the team ' supplies.
These effects accumulate, so at the fourth level, we retain all the bonuses from the previous three levels.
It should be underlined that the currently tested version of the game is very early. This is a big experiment in which the developers are trying to determine which potential solutions will appeal to the players. Therefore, it cannot be said whether class specializations will be included in the full version of the new Battlefield.
Opinions on Field Upgrades in Battlefield 4 were mixed. ers of this approach praised it for fostering tighter collaboration with fellow soldiers. Others believed that some improvements were overused and poorly balanced. Overall, however, the system, although not without flaws, was considered better than the perks for units in BF3. The concept is definitely solid, and if the new BF balances it well, it could provide a pleasant diversification in gameplay.
The new Battlefield still doesn't have an exact release date, but EA predicts that the game will launch before April 1, 2026.
