The release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC is just around the corner, so Square Enix thought it was a good time to remind about the game. A new trailer has been published online, presenting all the improvements. Many owners of the PS5 version have been asking for some of them since its launch last year.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - new features in the PC version

The most important changes concern the visual layer. Square Enix has improved the lighting in the PC version, which console players had complained about. They pointed out that sometimes it seemed unnatural, especially when transitioning from open to closed spaces and vice versa. The new version should be free of this issue.

The devs also improved the overall quality of the graphics, adding many customization options. The trailer even included a brief comparison of three settings - low, medium, and high. The FF7 Rebirth port for PC also boasts for DLSS technology and an increased frame rate limit of up to 120 fps. In comparison, on the PS5, the frame rate was limited to 30 or 60 fps, depending on the selected option.

Among the other mentioned features were also:

  1. for DualSense controller;
  2. maximum resolution 4K;
  3. option to set the number of NPCs visible on the screen;
  4. for keyboard and mouse.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for PC will be released in just 13 days, on January 23rd. If you're thinking about buying, make sure to check the game's system requirements beforehand, as they aren't minimal.

The game can currently be pre-ordered at a price 30% lower than the standard one—$48.99 on Steam or in the Epic Games Store.
