Intel Core i9-11900K Beats Ryzen 9 5950X in First Benchmark
Twitter published Intel Core i9-11900K's results in the Ashes of the Singularity benchmark. This is the first leak on the performance of Intel's new U. The unit has fared worse than Ryzen 9 5950X.

IN A NUTSHELL:
- First screenshots from Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation benchmark, showing the performance of Intel Core i9-11900K U, appeared on the web;
- The U has fared worse than Ryzen 9 5950X;
- This is the first leak showing the possible performance of this U that used a test unit - future results may be different.
A well-known technology enthusiast, known by as APISAK on Twitter (@TUM_APISAK), Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation benchmark (available in the game). This is the first leak illustrating the performance of the Rocket Lake-S series of a U.
Intel's new processor is clocked at 3.5GHz and works with a Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and 32 gigabytes of RAM. This configuration allows for an average of 64 fps at 1080p resolution and 62 fps at 1440p.
Ashes of the Singularity
This benchmark is an internal test tool included in Ashes of the Singularity, which is often used by experts reviewing new hardware. The engine uses DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, and the can determine on which component to focus the test - GPU or U.
Frankly speaking, these are not staggering results - by comparison, the competitive Ryzen 9 5950X achieved 70 fps (working at 1080p resolution) in the same benchmark. It is worth ing, however, that in the above benchmarks a test unit of the processor was used, which is still in production and may still undergo many changes to be released. What's more, the 3.5GHz clock is quite low for an Intel processor (the U that the i9-11900K is supposed to replace - Core i9-10900K - has 200 MHz higher base clock). This means drawing too far-reaching conclusions based on these results is inadvisable - these are early, unconfirmed rumors and should be treated as such.
We would like to remind that 11th generation Intel Core processors - the so-called Rocket Lake-S line - are to appear on the market in the first quarter of 2021. The exact launch date is unknown.
