James Bond Game From Hitman Devs is Far Away
IO Interactive's latest financial report indicates that the studio's next major productions - including the one about Agent 007 - may not see the light of day for a long time.
We have had many occasions to see that game development is often a long and arduous process. Often years between the announcement of a game and its release. Examples can be found anywhere - Cyberpunk 2077 was announced in 2012, and hit store shelves 8 years later (although we know very well that it was still too early).
It looks like IO Interactive has also found itself in a similar situation. The company's new financial report indicates that it will be several years before any of the company's projects make their market debut (via VGC).
Twitter DarkDetective noted that in the financial document, the Danish studio predicts revenue of 450-500 million kroner ($60-67 million) by the end of March 2023. In the next two fiscal years following that date, however, revenue is expected to decline. This is to be attributed to the lack of major launches during that period (at least until the end of March 2025)..

Unfortunately, this is not good news for gamers who are waiting for new works from the creators of Hitman. Probably especially disappointed will be fans of James Bond, because it is the adaptation of the adventures of this iconic character that IO Interactive is working on. (you can read more about it Project 007 - because that's the working name given to the title about Her Majesty's best agent - will not be released until 2025.
There is nothing left for us to do but be patient and wait the Danish company's official position on the matter.
