Kathy Rain – a 1990s Style Mystery Adventure Game is Coming to PC
Kathy Rain is a freshly announced oldschool point-n-click adventure game coming for PC early next year. The titular protagonist tries to solve a local mystery, which turns out to be more complex than it seemed at the start.

If you have a warm spot for good old adventure games, Clifftop Games (incidentally, a one man studio), may just have something for you. The Swedish developer announced at gamescom he is working on an oldschool point-n-click adventure game inspired of 1990s classics – if you Lucas Arts’ Kathy Rain, as the game is entitled, takes you back to the year 1995, both in of stylistics and story. As for the latter, the game puts you in the boots of the titular Miss Rain, a young woman with a penchant for rock music, motorcycles, and detective work. Together with her roommate she investigates a mystery behind the recent death of her grandfather. The more the two girls discover, the darker and more ominous the case turns out to be.
What makes Kathy Rain oldschool is obviously its pixel-art graphics (resolution 320x240) and point-n-click gameplay. Besides, the game is going to be difficult – forget about modern hints systems or tutorials.

Kathy Rain is coming to PC (Windows, Linux) and Mac early next year. There are no plans to release the game on other platforms. The game is going to be published by Raw Fury Games.
