The day before yesterday, Warhorse Studios released the 1.2.4 update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which introduced the highly anticipated hardcore mode. It makes the game much harder by, among others, restricting the interface or removing the fast travel option. Players must also choose at least three out of ten available negative perks.

We'll find different options among them, like a stronger smell, a chance of back injury when bending, or slower experience gain. Each of them can, to a lesser or greater extent, hinder the fun, but some players, looking for a real challenge, decide to start the game with all 10 of them activated.

To those wondering how HC with all bad perks is.

My feet are bleeding, I'm still hungry, wasn't sure if I'm wanted yet, almost attacked by wolves and bandits because of this video, and I had to sleep in an owned bed because I was so tired.

One of the Reddit s shared his experience, also attaching a video that shows how, after waking up, Hal found himself in the middle of the forest, due to the "sleepwalker" perk. By the way, this is extremely irritating for some.

[In the description] it's says a chance, it's bullsh*t. It's a 100% for me. 8 sleeps, 8 teleports.

Some people are afraid to go to bed for this reason. The feature "weak back" can also give players a hard time, literally. One of them itted that Henry broke his spine twice just in the prologue.

Of course, that's the whole point of the hardcore mode - it's supposed to be tough and annoying by nature. Fans, despite their complaints, are satisfied with their experiences and see a lot of beauty in the suffering.

Does it suck at times? Absolutely. I've ended up in the forest near trosky castle after sleeping at the millers. Do I enjoy this HC run? Absolutely. Everything i do is calculated now. I'm not as beefy. I don't pick everything up, only things I need. After 5hrs HC (and obv my 130hrs reg, 2 runs), I know this map, WELL. I genuinely enjoy doing this now. It's much more rewarding finishing Quests, traveling, meeting people, looting, stealing, fighting, everything.

Henry as a "brave hunter"

It's also worth mentioning the new DLC released two days ago for KCD 2 called "Gallant Huntsman’s Kit," which turns Henry into a "brave hunter." Its purchase will provide us with a full hunting outfit, including a St. Hubert's hunting cap, Artemis' crossbow, and Nimrod's hunting coat. The DLC costs $2.99.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
