Microsoft Still Thinks of Returning to Age of Mythology
Adam Isgreen from Microsoft once again spoke about the possible return of Age of Mythology. The mythological spin-off of the Age of Empires series may well be refreshed in the form of a definitive edition, get a reboot or become a completely new project.

Since August, RTS fans are waiting for the release of Age of Mythology. The spin-off to the 2002 series could have been a definitive edition in the vein of the second installment, but the developer does not rule out the possibility of creating a reboot or something completely new:
"[Age of] Mythology occupies this really interesting space. Do we just do a definitive version of it, or do we do something grander with it, rebooting it or taking it in a new direction? There are so many opportunities that I see with Mythology, I just don't know what we're going to do yet. We're going to think it through. We want to make our fans happy, and if the fans want us to do a definitive version, we'll heavily consider going in that direction."
In short, the fate of Age of Mythology is yet to be diceded, and the future of this sub-series can be determined by the votes of the fans. These would probably have nothing against a full-fledged continuation, with more playable civilizations, heroes and mythical creatures. They wouldn't have also complained too much about a refreshed edition of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, despite the release of fourth part of the cycle.
