Cities: Skylines-like City in Minecraft That Took 3 Years to Build

Every now and then we hear news that players have recreated a certain place from the real world in Minecraft. This latest case is somewhat unusual because a player took 3 years to design and build his own original city, resembling various American metropolises.

"This is NOT Minecraft's angular blocks up close. What is it about? The author of this Reddit post is also the creator of the "North American Metropolis Project" - the player designed and built a huge city in Minecraft from scratch.

And while we've seen a ton of smaller cities, this project stands out because, despite its sheer size, it doesn't just recreate a specific city in Minecraft but rather is a loose variation on several metropolises like Chicago or New York. In the discussion below the post, the author itted that it took him 3 years to build the North American Metropolis Project.

The city contains many elements from great American cities (especially those located on the East or West Coast) - such as characteristic bridges, harbor, the layout of streets, and architecture focused on skyscrapers and with highly urbanized landscape. As you can see, despite being almost 10 years old, Minecraft still provides us with evidence of the inexhaustible layers of creativity of the players.
