Diablo Immortal Devs Invest in Polish VR Studio
The developer responsible for Diablo Immortal - Chinese company NetEase - has invested several million dollars in Polish studio Something Random. Its debut game is expected to be released in 2023.
Chinese company Diablo Immortal, quite unexpectedly entered the Polish gaming market. The company has invested "several million US dollars" in Lodz-based studio Something Random (via GamesIndustry.biz).
This is a new company - according to data from edition dedicated to VR goggles.
The studio's debut project is also to be developed with virtual reality in mind. It has not yet been announced, but all indications are that it will be released in 2023. It is possible that it will be an FPS, because the developer raised funding for such a game some time ago.
"NetEase's experience and s will be of great value to us. It is a serious and reliable partner that will enable us to scale our business," said Something Random's Vice President and CFO Piotr Gogus.
"The world of VR games has a very dynamic future ahead of it and there is huge potential. Virtual reality is an area in which we have experience, and a global investor appreciated not only our achievements to date, but above all invested in the games we are currently working on," Something Random's president and founder Cezary Skorupka said
