New Fallout From Obsidian Possible; Studio Head Would Love It
Contrary to a recent announcement, Obsidian Entertainment is not ruling out developing a new Fallout completely. The company's founder and head, Feargus Urquhart, even claims that this is his dream.
A few days ago, Fallout series. What's more, Obsidian's founder and CEO, Feargus Urquhart , assured in an interview for DualShockers that he would love to do so.
"Of course, if we ever got the opportunity to make another Fallout game, we'd make it. There's not even a question of whether or not we would do it, it's just 'Will the opportunity arise? I hung around at Interplay [Entertainment, the company that created the brand and released all of its isometric installments - ed. note] for probably an extra year because I wanted to work on Fallout more. I love Fallout."
Urquhart also referred to Obsidian's busy schedule. The studio has just released Pentiment. Of course, work on each of these games will eventually come to an end at some point. Then, in turn, the time will come for new projects.
"At some point we'll start looking into what those next games are going to be, and I would be surprised if Fallout is not on that list. If we were to do Fallout, it has to tie in with what Bethesda is doing with Fallout and a lot of other things, but I would always personally say my hope is that before I ride off into the sunset, I'd love to make another Fallout game," Feargus Urquhart stated.
Well, where there's will there's a way, as the popular saying goes. Regardless of whether Obsidian Entertainment will take on a Fallout game in the coming years or not - and it will have a great opportunity to do so, as the brand, like the developer, is now under Microsoft's wing - Urquhart's words should pour some optimism into the hearts of fans of the series, undoubtedly depressed by the developer's recent announcement. It remains to wait for Obsidian's next games and eagerly awaited news - as well as The Elder Scrolls VI (i.e., not soon).
