Paradox acquired Jagged Alliance 3 devs, so they can make more „great games”
The developers of the highly acclaimed Jagged Alliance 3 have come under the wing of Paradox and are preparing more „great games”.
Paradox Interactive has taken over the developers of Jagged Alliance 3.
Haemimont Games studio has come under the wings of the publisher of Stellaris, Crusader Kings, and Cities: Skylines, with the company assuring that the change of ownership won't affect current projects or the workflow of the team. The composition of the studio and its management will remain the same.
What may seem surprising in this takeover is that after the recent, not entirely successful releases, Paradox talked about focusing on what its studios do best. Nonetheless, the strategic Jagged Alliance 3 fits into the category of games "close" to the company's roots... although in such a case we might wonder why Paradox parted ways with Harebrained Schemes studio.
The Haemimont Games team expressed their satisfaction with this change and assured that players can expect "great games" from the studio. On the other hand, Frederik Wester, the head of Paradox, assured that the publisher's goal now is to enable the developer to "make great games" under the company's patronage, including a completely new brand.

Jagged Alliance 3 was released in July 2023 and - contrary to fans' fears - it was a worthy continuation of the cult series, much to the relief of players (reviewers, and in the same year, it was also released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The rights to the brand remained with THQ Nordic company.
