QuakeCon 2022 Likely to be Last Online-only Edition
The next edition of QuakeCon will take place on August 18-20. The organizers are determined to make it the last edition of the event held exclusively online.

The coronavirus pandemic has caused a lot of real-world industry events to move online in recent years. Among them was QuakeCon, a convention mainly associated with id Software titles (but also Bethesda, the studio's owner). Its two previous editions were held only in online form. It will be the same with this year's event. It will take place on August 18-20.
QuakeCon 2022 - what awaits us
What can we expect from the event? A number of broadcasts, online meetings, competitions with prizes, charity actions and much more. The organizers are still working on the program and other attractions, so we do not know too many details yet. They are to be announced in June.
Back to normal
Interestingly, the announcement reads that the organizers wanted to return to the traditional form of QuakeCon already this year and invite players to come personally to Dallas, where they could have fun together, check out new games in person, etc. However, lack of time and too much uncertainty about what the future would bring got in the way of this plan. There was, however, an assurance of determination to get the event live next year.
