IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Capcom presented sales results of Resident Evil: Village;
  2. Since its release on May 7, the game has sold 3 million copies, which is a great result;
  3. Capcom is planning to release an online installment of the series and a series on Netflix in the near future.

Resident Evil series have sold 100 million copies in total. Quoting Capcom's documents:

"Representing the eighth main entry in the series, the new Resident Evil Village is the sequel to Resident Evil 7 biohazard (which has gone on to ship a cumulative 8.5 million units as of December 31, 2020) and features a higher degree of action and even more expansive, highly-engaging gameplay. In the game, players take on the role of protagonist Ethan Winters as they delve into a new kind of survival horror set in a mysterious, icy village. Built with Capcom's proprietary RE ENGINE, the game maximizes the potential of next-generation devices to deliver stunning, photorealistic visuals while utilizing cutting-edge audio technology. This, along with praise for the deeply immersive experience from fans following the game's demo, resulted in worldwide shipments of the title suring 3 million units."

Capcom also hosts a stats website, through which we can learn various tidbits, such as the fact that all players have spent a total of more than 1500 years (!) in the game, walked a distance of over 37 million kilometers and scored a total of 209 million kills.

Returning to Capcom's report, we can cite the developers' announcements, who are planning, among other things, the release of the online game Resident Evil Re:Verse or an animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness on Netflix for the game's 25th anniversary. It would be another high-profile animated series based on the game to land on the popular platform after DOTA: Dragon's Blood.
