- The video game development platform Roblox has become a target for hackers.
- They hacked more than 1600 s and placed agitation elements on them for Donald Trump.
- In addition, they used bots to send messages from infected s that encouraged people to vote for Trump and links to fraudulent sites.
- Those affected by the attack are advised to change their to a stronger one and set up two-step verification.
This year is marked by presidential elections in several countries, and the campaign fever continues in the USA. The current president Donald Trump is actively participating in the campaign. There is no denying that he is a rather controversial figure, who has both ardent opponents and ers. The latter group probably includes hackers who have pulled off quite a bold action in a free online game development platform called Roblox. For the last few days, they have hacked over 1600 s belonging to the lovers of this online game and posted elements aimed at agitating for Trump (via BleepingComputer.com).

The hackers first dressed up all the avatars of the hacked s in clothes associated with Trump's campaign - a T-shirt with an eagle against the background of the American flag and a red cap with the inscription "Running of the Bulls", which looks like the famous "Make America Great Again" baseball cap, which is one of the hallmarks of the ers of the current US President. Moreover, they changed descriptions to the slogan "Ask your parents to vote for Trump this year! #MAGA2020."
Why do the hackers ask s' parents to vote for Trump, and not the s themselves? The answer is trivially simple. A huge part of Roblox's multimillion-strong community is made up of children between the ages of 9 and 14, who, as you probably know, have no voting rights.

Unfortunately, there's more. The hacked s have also been infected with a bot that sends out messages to Roblox players on the 's friends list to encourage them to vote for Trump and enter some websites, in a quite clear attempt at fraud.
Luckily, hackers didn't bother to change any other data on hacked s. All unlucky s can therefore to their profiles and restore everything to its original state. It is recommended that they change their s to stronger ones and activate two-step verification.
So far, we do not know whether the crisis in Roblox has already been resolved or whether similar attacks await us in the near future. The creators of the platform, Roblox Corporation, have not commented on the whole matter so far.
