Ryzen 7 5700G Benchmark; Rumors Mention Models Without X
A handful of reports on several AMD processors - Ryzen 7 5700G, Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800 - appeared on the web.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- According to a leak, AMD Ryzen 7 5700G achieved (single- / multicore) 613.6 / 6292.2 points in U-Z;

- We also have some rumors about the specs of Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800;
- Ryzen 7 5700G is expected to be available in retail, but Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800 are likely to be offered onla as part of a set.
There have been leaks on the web, regarding APUs (chipsets connecting U to the integrated GPU) Ryzen 7 5700G or Ryzen 5750G by AMD. The unit achieved 613.6 / 6292.2 points (single- / multicore) in U-Z benchmark. The source of the information is an entry published on a Chinese social network website (via VideoCardz).
The U will be based on the Zen3 architecture and will have 8 physical cores that can handle up to sixteen threads simultaneously. Rumor has it that the clock will reach 4.4 GHz, but another source, showing results in Geekbench 5 benchmark (specifically 1304 and 8717 points, once again single- and multi-threaded performance), indicates 3.8 GHz, with Turbo mode at 4.6 GHz.
The author of the first leak also stated that the APU can be overclocked to 4.7 GHz - it enabled the device to improve the results in U-Z benchmark by 5.4% / 10.5%, to 647.4 and 6960 points. In the majority of Geekbench 5 tests, the U performs about 5-10% better than its predecessor, i.e. Ryzen 4700G, although there are also tests in which it performs comparably or even slightly worse. According to VideoCardz editors, these results in U-Z suggest that we will be dealing with a unit 20% / 16% faster than Ryzen 7 3700X (single- / multicore).

AMD's desktop Ryzen 5000G Us have not yet been officially announced, but according to rumors, they are in the pipeline, and perhaps we will see the announcement at tomorrow's AMD conference on the occasion of the CES. It is worth noting that according to the rumors, AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is to be available in retail - it will be available for purchase at regular PC hardware stores.
Ryzen without X only on OEM market?
There are also a few rumors on the web about Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800, i.e. slightly slower and cheaper variants of Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 7 5800X. We've learned the spec details, such as clock and amount of cache memory (details can be found in the post below, but the easiest way to summarize them as 100 MHz slower than the X variants, and with significantly lower TDP - 65 W compared to 105 W, which gives us power consumption at the level of Ryzen 5 5600X).
Unfortunately, there is also bad news - Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800 models will probably be available only as part of the ready-made sets (they will hit the so-called OEM market).
