Space Marine 2 - The Best Brightness Settings
Since WH40k Space Marine 2 lacks HDR, it doesn't mean that we can't do anything about it. Here you will find the best brightness settings that will allow you to enjoy the game in more appropriate palette.

Not every game has to have that fairy tale, sunbathed visual design, because not all stories can be told in happily ever after fashion. And that’s great! Warhammer 40,000 is a universe which thrives on dark, crimson, and blood-soaked presentation. However, the developers from Saber Interactive decided that having more pronounced differences in brightness is not for them and completely ditched the idea of Space Marine 2. Many players argue that it leaves the graphics too bright and washed out. If you are one of them, then lucky you, as here you will learn the best possible settings to counteract that!
The best brightness settings in WH40k Space Marine 2 explained
With technology getting more advanced and commonly available, more and more players have access to HDR capable monitors. Sadly, Space Marine 2 does not offer such functionality… at least directly, but more about it in a moment. So far, the community battles this issue by a specific custom preset of brightness settings that go as follow:
- Min. Brightness – 0.6
- Max. Brightness – 2.5
- Brightness – 1.0
This, however, is not the only option that we can try to make the game better looking. The other possibility to check out is to use Auto HDR feature built into Windows 11. If you are lucky and your computer is compatible, you should do as follows:
- Go to Settings, then navigate to System, and Display.
- In case you have more than one display, select the HDR capable from diagram on the top of the screen and then pick “Use HDR”.
- With this functionality enabled, choose “More options >” and then toggle “Auto HDR”.
Of course, this won’t offer as good HDR as if it was directly implemented by the developers, yet it can at least try to spice up the results. At least we can count on U overheating, to name a few. Hopefully, using the proposed solutions, you will at least enjoy deeper darks while slaying Tyranids. Good luck!
