Indira Varman s the Cast of Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi
We got to know one of the first official cast of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. She is Indira Varma - a characteristic actress (mostly TV) known from Game of Thrones, among other titles.
At the end of spring, shooting will begin on the Star Wars spin-off series titled Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, we still haven't got to know the full cast of actors involved in the show. We know that Ewan McGregor will return to play Vader, but apart from that no serious casting has been announced (we only heard Liam Neeson declare that he would be willing to play Qui-Gon again).
Fortunately, this dry spell of information was broken yesterday thanks to Deadline, which reports that Indira Varma will be ing the ranks of actors in Obi-Wan Kenobi. And we won't be surprised if that name doesn't mean anything to you, however we think most of you will recognize her from her face. Here is a picture:
You probably know Varma if you've watched Game of Thrones. She played a characteristic role of Ellaria Sand - Oberyn Martell's partner and an unpleasant schemer who hates Lannisters and holds temporary power in Dorne. The actress is also known from a few other series such as Luther or Rome.
Unfortunately we don't know who Varma will play in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it doesn't surprise us since the last months didn't bring us any major plot details, except for those related to Darth Vader's participation. We do know that the series will take place between the events of Revenge of the Sith and the action of A New Hope. The production should be expected at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, with the note that these are just speculations.
