Star Wars: Outlaws fell short of Ubisoft's Christmas expectations, but is expected to be bestseller in the long term, says company's CFO
Ubisoft has itted that SW: Outlaws sold less than expected during the Christmas season. However, the company still believes in game's long-term success.

It's no secret that forced a change in its PC publishing policy. Despite this, the French studio believes that the title will be successful in the long term.
Ubisoft believes in the success of Outlaws
A financial conference of Ubisoft was recently held, during which Frederick Duguet, the company's CFO, spoke about Star Wars: Outlaws, among other things. He itted that although the game's sales increased during the Christmas season, they were still lower than expected results.
However, he added that since the release, the quality of the game has significantly improved due to many updates. The latest update introduced for DLSS 4, while previous updates made big changes, such as removing the requirement for stealth from almost all missions. The company intends to continue ing the game and believes that this will ensure its success in the long term, and thus the valuation of the shares will increase.
Frederick Duguet's vision is extremely optimistic, considering the low interest in Star Wars: Outlaws from players. Of course, there are cases in the industry, like No Man's Sky, that were poorly received at launch but eventually got back on track. However, this turnaround cost the developers many years of work. If Ubisoft intends to do the same, it faces a long and difficult journey.
It's important to note that this is merely a side task - the company is currently fully focused on Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, which is scheduled to launch on March 20th for PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
