The Outer Worlds is Obsidian Entertainment's Big Hit
Take-Two Interactive has announced that over 2 million copies of The Outer Worlds, an RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment, have already been sold.

- The Outer Worlds sales exceeded 2 million copies;
- Take-Two prefers to release old games in Game services, but the company is open to experimenting with newer titles.
While discussing its financial results, Take-Two Interactive has The Outer Worlds. The game was released on October 25 last year on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, while on March 6 it will be released on Nintendo Switch.
We don't know how those two million are distributed across different platforms. According to PlayTracker's estimates last month, the PC version found 154,000 buyers on Epic Games Store. However, even this data is incomplete, as the PC release is also sold in Microsoft Store.
On PCs and XONE, the title is also available as part of the Game , but the results achieved by this service are not included in total sales. During the discussion on the financial report, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, itted that there are ongoing discussions about such subscription models in the company. Many decision-makers tend to believe that they should be used mainly to provide second youth to old titles. The publisher, however, is open to experimentation, so the situation with The Outer Worlds may repeat itself in the future.
While The Outer Worlds cannot compete with Grand Theft Auto 5 story expansion. For now, all we know about it is that it's due to be released this year.
It is worth recalling that The Outer Worlds not only turned out to be a commercial success, but also met with a warm reception by the industry media. According to Metacritic, the PC version has an average rating of 7.0/10.
