Towerborne announces a console release date for early access
Towerborne has announced a release date for Game Preview. Fans of the multiplayer action RPG won't have to wait much longer to jump in on their consoles.

Today, the development team behind Towerborne announced a release date for Game Preview on Xbox consoles and Xbox Game . This multiplayer action RPG is set in a fantasy world where the Belfry, a skyscraping tower in the center of the world, is the only haven for people to avoid run-ins with monsters. This game is currently available in Early Access on Steam but will launch on Xbox consoles via Game Preview on April 29th. It will also be available on Xbox Game .
Towerborne announces April 29th release date for Xbox consoles via Game Preview
In Towerborne, players can customize their Ace, selecting from various appearances, gear, weaponry, and more. Up to four total players can venture out from the Belfry to defeat enemies and gather loot. The console version planned for the end of April will finally introduce couch co-op for this game, meaning players will be able to experience local multiplayer. Thanks to Klobrille, who posted a break down of the features included in the console update. Players who have been enjoying the Steam launch since September will be glad to learn that their console friends will still be able to them via crossplay.
Towerborne is colorful and vibrant, despite its dark fantasy premise. Combat takes place in a sort of half 3D half 2D beat ‘em up style, where all players on the same screen at the same time. So, there’s no need for splitscreen with local co-op. It looks like the updates included in the console launch will be major, including new enemies, loot, and skills, but also improvements to gameplay, multiplayer, and the overall world map.
On Steam, Towerborne currently sits at Mostly Positive reviews with 77% positive out of just over six hundred reviews. While not the most glowing number, it does show that this game could find a serious second life on consoles with these updates and improvements. Towerborne being available on Xbox Game could also make a huge difference compared to the $20 price tag on Steam. Though, it is worth noting that once Towerborne leaves Early Access and Game Preview, it is expected to be free-to-play.
You may be wondering what Game Preview means. It’s similar to Early Access on Steam, but for Xbox consoles. Palworld may be one of the best examples of a game that is also using Game Preview. Essentially, this means that the game is currently unfinished, but the team behind Towerborne is using Game Preview to bring in revenue and player to help finish and improve the game. If you’d rather wait for the full launch sometime in the future, that’s up to you. But you will have to be patient because Towerborne has not revealed a release date for that yet.
