Ubisoft's CEO Announces a Sequel to Splinter Cell
The Splinter Cell series will come back - this is what Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, told in a conversation with Chinese website GamerSky. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen in the coming months. The game itself is supposed to be „experimental” in some ways.

Almost 6 years have ed since the releaseof the last installment of the extremely popular stealth game series Ghost Recon: Wildlands), the fans repeatedly demanded that the company continues the adventures of the agent. Unfortunately, for a long time Ubisoft denied that a new game from the series was in preparation.
This was the case until recently, because last week we received some very interesting information. Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemot, gave an interview to the Chinese website GamerSky, in which he revealed his plans for the series. It turns out that the players will receive the expected continuation (although not too soon):
On Splinter Cell there will be some new type of experiments, but more on different devices. We are working a lot on the brand today to come back at one point. We can’t say when because as you know it takes time, but we have to find which time is right to come back big.
It is difficult to say what the CEO of Ubisoft meant by "experiments" and "different devices". Although this would coincide with the reports that appeared since the beginning of the year. Let us recall that was absent.
After that, there was that funny "joke" by Julian Gerighty (Ubisoft's creative director), who VR game. Maybe that's what Yves Guillemot meant when he talked about experiments in the context of new devices? The question is whether Ubi is working on a full-fledged continuation and a VR game, or maybe (which would be sad) only the latter. It is difficult to guess at the moment; hopefully, we will learn something more about the new production soon.
