Unannounced Blade Runner game has been canceled
Supermassive Games studio was working on an action-adventure game set in the Blade Runner universe. However, the project was scrapped.

Insider Gaming has learned that an unannounced game set in the Blade Runner universe has been canceled. The game was titled Blade Runner: Time To Live.
Supermassive Games studio worked on this project. They are responsible for titles such as The Dark Pictures Anthology series. The studio specialized in narrative adventures, but Blade Runner: Time To Live was supposed to be something different.
- The project is described as an action-adventure game that would combine a rich, philosophical storyline with dynamic gameplay.
- The gameplay would include combat, stealth, conducting investigations, and shaping interactions with NPCs.
- During the gameplay, we could improve the abilities of our character. Exploring our own memories and using futuristic technology in investigations would also be important.
- Blade Runner: Time To Live was supposed to be a single-player game and was expected to provide about 10-12 hours of fun.
- The release was set to take place in September 2027 on PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.
The Last Blade Runner
The action was supposed to take place in 2065 in New Zurich. The player would control a character known as So-Lange, a replicant from the Nexus-6 series, who, for some unknown reason, would still be operating long past its factory-set lifespan. We would be the only Blade Runner still working in the mentioned year, and our objective would be to track down of the underground replicant movement, whose leader betrayed us.
The project was still in the early stages of work. Pre-production started in September last year and was supposed to end in March this year. By September 2025, the creators wanted to finish prototyping the game and start full-scale production. The team working on Blade Runner: Time To Live primarily consisted of developers who had previously worked on The Quarry.
Ultimately, the project was canceled at the end of last year. Insider Gaming sources didn't specify the exact reason, just saying that Alcon Entertainment, the owner of the Blade Runner brand, is to blame for it.
The game's budget was estimated at 45 million dollars, of which 9 million was allocated for hiring actors and conducting motion capture sessions. In reality, the costs would be higher, as the $45 million didn't cover music, testing, localization, or future DLCs.
Other adaptations of Blade Runner
Another game based on this license, Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth, is still in development. Last year, the future of this project was uncertain when all Annapurna Interactive employees quit, but the company owners say they're still going to work on the game.
Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition, the remastered version of the cult adventure game from Westwood studio released in 2022, should also not be overlooked.
