Another week, another series of Buzzwords in Cookie Jam. Although non-cooking questions have been very frequent this time, such as “Pictures that show data”, let’s talk about cooking or, more precisely, a certain plant. 'Edible flower bud' can be hard to answer, fortunately with our help, this will become possible.

Answer to “Edible flower bud” in Cookie Jam

It has to be said that the question is not a simple one. I myself have been thinking about it for quite some time. I can't hide the fact that I'm not exactly the type of person who likes to eat flowers. I therefore had to take a moment to think about the answer. Rose, rosemary or perhaps cauliflower? None of these things fits... Then what could it be?

  1. „Edible flower bud” – Artichoke.

Yes, the answer is artichoke. Not that I'm shocked, as I'm familiar with this vegetable, although I don't think I've ever tried it in my life. And it seems to me that I should, as this plant is rich in fiber and polyphenols, which are beneficial for digestion and lower cholesterol.

Moreover, there are many delicious dishes which use this plant as an ingredient. It is mainly used in Italian cuisine. It gives meals a delicate, nutty flavor and at the same time you can taste a slightly bitter aftertaste. I'm not really a fan of sweet things, so if, like me, you don't mind bitter flavors, it's definitely worth convincing yourself to include this vegetable in your diet!
