Winamp Returns in New Form
The legendary Winamp comes back to life. For now, only with a new logo, but the registration for beta tests of the app, which will offer many innovations, has already started.

It's not just video games and movies that can come back from oblivion. We've seen that three years ago when, after many years, a new version of Winamp - the once iconic music player - was released. Now, Winamp is back with a new logo thanks to Radionomy.
The return of the app was mentioned for a long time. In October 2018, Winamp 5.8 was leaked, the first completely new version of the app since 2007 (although the previous build was developed until 2013). Back then, Radionomy talked about big plans for the project, but for a long time the developers gave no sign of life. Until now (or rather April/May, because - as LinkedIn suggests - the new Winamp team is in place since then).
Unfortunately, we still haven't found out too much. Radionomy refreshed Winamp's official website with a new logo and open s for beta tests, which are supposed to begin "soon". It was also revealed that it won't simply be a player, but a platform for "artists and audio creators" giving them control over their "content". The developers are also promising a handful of innovations, but we'll have to wait for the details.
