Three years after Wonder Woman game announcement, development is more than troubled
In a report from MultiVersus within the last few weeks.
Sometime early last year, the development of Wonder Woman was rebooted, with the game changing directors. It’s not clear what that means for the game. Though with the way Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav has talked about games in the past, it could always mean that Wonder Woman will turn into some kind of live-service game full of microtransactions and battle es. Hopefully this is not the case.
The bright spot for WB Games recently has been Harry Potter, with 2023’s best-selling game of that year. There are reports of Warner Bros. intention to that game, as well as work on a sequel.
If Wonder Woman was rebooted at the beginning of 2024, as it has been reported, then it will likely be years before we learn more about the game., if it ever does see the light of day. It could easily be another four or five years before this game is released to the public
WB Games is one of many large publishers to be struggling lately. Ubisoft is EA Sports FC 25. It will be interesting to keep an eye on what happens to these major AAA game publishers over the next few years.
