Financial results of Microsoft's gaming division
We are, of course, most interested in the figures for Microsoft's gaming division.
- The PC division, which includes both consoles, Windows and the company's computers, generated $14.5 billion in revenue (up 11%).
- The gaming division alone generated $3.74 billion in revenue, up 6% from the first quarter of 2021. According to the company's CEO, this is due in part to the growing importance of Game and games published by Microsoft.
- Revenue from sales of Xbox family hardware grew 14%, while games and related services grew 4%.
- 10 million people have already taken advantage of the xCloud game streaming option. This is the first time Microsoft has revealed any numbers about the popularity of this service.
